刘伟民，中共党员，博士，教授，硕士生导师。2018年9月毕业于南京大学天文学专业，获理学博士学位。河南省教育厅学术技术带头人。
研究方向集中在激变变星、X射线双星和引力波源等领域。在天文学主流期刊ApJ、MNRAS、A&A和RAA上发表学术论文12篇，其中第一作者9篇。已主持完成国家自然科学基金天文联合项目2项，参与完成国家自然科学基金面上项目4项，参与在研国家自然科学基金面上项目1项。以第二完成人获河南省自然科学三等奖1项，第一作者获河南省自然科学学术奖-自然科学优秀学术论文一等奖、二等奖各2项。
